Blubee Jewelry is a labor of love.
Our story begins when Blubee's founder Oscar G. Torres was looking for a ring to propose for his lovely girlfriend Anastasiya. He knew she wanted a blue sapphire ring and the only constraint that she gave Oscar was that the stone needed to be natural and untreated. Oscar quickly found that this was a hard task.
Oscar has been fascinated by precious stones since he was a little kid living in Rural Mexico. He would roam up and down the river by his grandfather’s house collecting unique looking rocks and would show his collection to his grandmother who would tell him what type of rocks they were. When the opportunity presented itself to find Anastasiya’s stone, he decided to dive in and figure out where to get such a rare stone.
After a substantial amount of research, and countless trips to NYC's and Boston's diamond districts—Oscar was about to raise the white flag and give up his hopes of finding the right stone for Anastasiya. It was only after going directly to the source, that he found what he was looking for—an authentic, precious stone, hand mined in a sustainable manner. No treatments, no heating, just simply cut and polished.
And now Oscar wants to help others find that special stone to celebrate a special moment.
